Tehran based general aviation and pilot training company Paravaran Asseman has opened the world's first unisex Muslim skydiving centre.
Called "Shahab Skydiving" the facility plays host to male and female skydiving instructors and students from a variety of countries.
As a totally new way of allowing Muslim women to participate, Paravaran Asseman has specifically employed female skydiving instructors which have uniquely allowed Muslim women to experience the thrill and exhilaration of skydiving for the first time.
The aircraft for the skydiving operations is the British made, Britten-Norman Islander. The "Islander" is widely regarded as one of the safest and most popular aircraft in use for skydiving worldwide.
The centre plans to operate all through winter and is preparing for an expansion of its operations in spring 2009.
